Burglar steals $20k in camera equipment from Riverside financial services business

The owners of a Riverside financial services business targeted in a burglary, where $20,000 worth of camera equipment was stolen, believe the suspect may have been familiar with their office.

Video footage shows the suspect throwing a large rock twice at the glass door of Ray Reynolds Financial Services, located in the Adams Business Park area, before the glass shatters. The suspect then sprints inside and lunges at a security camera in the lobby, seemingly attempting to tear it down.

The Reynolds family says the thief immediately went for their most valuable items.

"There's a gaming computer; they were not interested in that, they just wanted what they wanted," said Fay Reynolds.

Instead, the burglar took two cameras valued at about $20,000. Ray Reynolds uses this equipment to create social media content focused on financial literacy.

"The main feeling is violation," Ray Reynolds said. "He went straight to the two tripods in that corner and took the cameras off. He knew exactly what he was doing."

The Reynolds family believes the suspect’s behavior—how he moved through the office and immediately targeted the security camera—indicates he was likely familiar with the location.

"He knew exactly where to get the camera, so this person knew somebody here or something else," Ray Reynolds added.

Footage from the lobby’s security camera, which continued recording while dangling from the wall, shows the suspect fleeing the business with the stolen equipment.

The Riverside Police Department is now investigating the incident. The Reynolds family hopes the suspect will be caught and their cameras recovered so they can continue helping others build financial freedom.

"We want to help people, but sometimes you get knocked down and you have to get back up again and again—that's how it works," Ray Reynolds said.
