How to Watch Selection Sunday for the NCAA Bracket Release

Trending 10 hours ago

With Selection Sunday here, the NCAA Tournament is officially underway. Conference tournaments will conclude this afternoon, securing the final automatic bids to the big dance. However, the tournament field is largely set, with the committee finalizing the last details of the bracket, which will be revealed live this evening on CBS.

Key Questions in the SEC

The Southeastern Conference will play a major role this afternoon as it sorts out a crowded bubble. Several SEC teams are anxiously awaiting Selection Sunday, with the conference potentially sending as many as 12 teams to the tournament. A surging Oklahoma team has forced its way into the conversation, while Texas, Missouri, and Auburn are fighting to secure their spots.

These teams will be competing against bubble contenders like Miami (OH), Santa Clara, UCF, NC State, SMU, San Diego State, and New Mexico.

At the top of the SEC, Florida’s status as a No. 1 seed is in question after an ugly loss to Vanderbilt on Saturday during the SEC Tournament. The Gators ended a long winning streak despite trailing the Commodores by more than 15 points for much of the game. Florida’s top seed hopes may be preserved by losses suffered by Iowa State, UConn, and Houston over the weekend.

Tennessee is likely to earn a No. 5 or No. 6 seed. The Volunteers struggled late in the season due to an injury to Nate Ament, who suffered a high ankle sprain in recent weeks. Ament returned for Thursday’s game against Auburn but was limited against Vanderbilt on Friday.

Now, all eyes turn to the NCAA Tournament. Tennessee is listed at +2200 to reach its first-ever Final Four, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. They are a long shot at +10,000 to win the National Championship. Their tournament path will be revealed tonight when the bracket is officially announced.
