Firefighters Respond to Blaze at Upstate Textile Manufacturing Plant

GAFFNEY, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – Fire crews are currently responding to a fire at a textile manufacturing facility in Cherokee County.

Cherokee County Emergency Manager Doug Bowers reported that first responders were alerted to the fire at Parkdale Mills on Wilcox Avenue in Gaffney around 6:20 a.m. on Sunday.

Ten fire departments are on site, working to remove approximately 1,500 bales of textiles burning inside the plant, according to Bowers.

At this time, no injuries have been reported, and no roads have been closed.
