Crimson Confidence

I was worried about Mikey Madison when she was announced as a Dior ambassador, but I have to say that this red velvet strapless dress embroidered with flowers is exactly the energy I was hoping to see from her last awards season. I had been waiting for that mix of sultry sophistication I knew she could deliver, and this look does just that. The draped velvet, the rich crimson tone, and the delicate floral embroidery give the gown a romantic mood, and far more aligned what I hope she continues to bring to the red carpet.

Consistently Great

Rose Byrne was my second favourite in Dior, wearing a black strapless gown embroidered with delicate florals. What I appreciate most is the restraint in the styling. The embroidery is detailed enough to carry the look, allowing the clean neckline and sharp silhouette to do the rest. It feels poised, confident, and exactly the sort of refined glamour Rose wears so well.

Textural Statement

Amy Madigan’s Dior silk feather jacket is a wonderful example of how Anderson is approaching tailoring with texture and personality. What makes this particularly interesting is how it sits within Amy’s broader style arc this season. Her tailoring has remained consistent, yet each outing has introduced a different twist, and this piece continues that pattern.

I’m Surprised

If you were a betting person, your money would have been on Anna Wintour wearing Chanel tonight. Instead, she stepped out in Dior wearing a flower-embroidered dress with a black lace jacket, marking a rare moment where Wintour deviates from expectation. Yet it still sits comfortably within her established uniform. Consider it a significant co-sign for Jonathan Anderson’s Dior.

Expectations Lowered

Honestly, I am very close to writing off Priyanka Chopra and resigning myself to the idea that her style instincts simply are not there. I would happily take the sculpted bodice of this Dior gown and the Bvlgari necklace, but almost everything else loses me. The embroidered feather boa pushes the look into a cheesy direction, and the shoes feel completely disconnected from the rest of the outfit. I genuinely cannot believe those were the final footwear choice. Consider my expectations officially lowered from here on out.

Gold Precision

I’m on the fence about EJAE’s Dior strapless gown. I love the intricate detailing, the draping across the bodice, and the gathered knot at the hip, but the slit throws off the balance of the design for me.

Gothic Romance

Mia Goth wore an ivory Dior dress embroidered with polka dots and lace flowers. The design leans into a romantic aesthetic with its delicate textures and layered detailing, and Mia’s cool, slightly aloof presence complements the softness of the gown, giving the look an edge that keeps it interesting.

Classic Hollywood

Leonardo DiCaprio, who has grown a moustache since the last time we saw him, wore a classic Dior tuxedo for the evening. The tailoring is sharp, the proportions are traditional, and the styling is exactly what you would expect from him
