The Seattle Seahawks are projected to select Miami defensive lineman Akheem Mesidor with the No. 32 overall pick in CBS Sports’ latest three-round mock draft.
Mesidor, 24, was named a second-team All-American by The Sporting News in 2025. He led the ACC last season with 12.5 sacks and recorded 17.5 tackles for loss. He is widely expected to be a first-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
According to CBS Sports’ Josh Edwards, the Seahawks will use their first-round pick on Mesidor.
“Akheem Mesidor is an older prospect who'll be able to help the defending Super Bowl champions immediately,” Edwards said. “They allowed Boye Mafe to depart in free agency, but depth remains a strength in their efforts to repeat.”
The Seahawks have relied on a strong defense for much of the past 15 years. Their defense stepped up late last season, with Derick Hall helping Seattle sack New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye six times in Super Bowl LX. The Seahawks’ defense played a key role in their 29-13 victory over the Patriots, securing their first Vince Lombardi Trophy since 2014.
Mesidor’s addition would bolster the Seahawks’ pass rush, providing a seasoned edge rusher at the end of their defensive line in 2026.
